The Road to Bound for Glory Begins: Quick Preview of TNA No Surrender 2011

At the beginning of the Bound for Glory Series, 12 men were standing.  Now after the months of hard work and serious competition, only 4 men remain.  They will fight this Sunday at No Surrender to determine who will compete for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship at Total Non-Stop Action’s biggest PPV of the year, Bound for Glory.  These 4 men are Bully Ray, Gunner, James Storm and Bobby Roode.  This Sunday at No Surrender the stakes are high as by the end of this PPV, we will all know the main event of Bound for Glory.  So hopefully we will see the best from these 4 athletes have to offer as an opportunity like this one only happens once a career.

Surprisingly with the stakes this high, TNA has done a horrible job of hyping No Surrender.  All of the matches on the card were only announced until two weeks before the show, the big match between Sting and Ric Flair, which should have been on this show, has been booked for this week’s Impact Wrestling and why are Matt Morgan, Devon and D’Angelo Dinero wrestling on this show when they are all supposed to be injured?  Every wrestling promotion can learn from TNA how not to hype a PPV, especially the PPV that leads right into their biggest PPV of the year.  Other than the Bound for Glory Series matches and Brian Kendrick vs. Austin Aries, most of these matches seem better suited for Impact Wrestling.  Like every PPV before this one, TNA please prove me wrong.  Put on an enjoyable wrestling PPV because you are running out of opportunities to keep wrestling fans like myself interested in your product.

Like most of the TNA PPVs this year not including Destination X, No Surrender has a lot to prove.  TNA needs to prove to us wrestling fans that we can trust them to put on a consistently good product.  At the moment, the only thing special about a TNA PPV is the matches are given more time than on Impact Wrestling.  That does not mean much when these matches share the same nonsensical booking that happens consistently on Impact Wrestling.  Hopefully TNA No Surrender 2011 will change that.
